The chart beiow shows the percentage of households in owned and rented accommodation in England and Wales between 1918 and 2011.Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

It is clear that before 1971, more people lived in rented accommodation, and after that, more people owned their own house. While in 1971, these two parts equalled.

In 1918, the percentage of households in rented accommodation reached its highest point at 78%. After that, It slightly decreased to its lowest point at 2001, at 31%, and then rises a little to 36%.
In contrast，the percentage of households in owned accommodation kept an increasing trend from 1918 to 2001. It increased from 22% in 1918 to almost 70% in 2001. In 2011, this figure dropped to 64%.
To sum up, as time goes by, more and more people in England and Wales could afford to buy a house, instead of living in rented houses.
