  A few years ago, I was lucky enough to have a friend working on the grounds at Wimbledon Tennis tournament, held annually in June. My friend helped a group of my friends and I to get tickets at a reduced price. We were thrilled at the prospect of going to the hallowed grounds of British Tennis during the big event itself, and we chose what might be the busiest day of the tournament.

  Little did we know, the weather forecast for our chosen day was not a positive one predicting perfect Tennis weather. Far from it! At around lunchtime, when we'd just sat down to watch a match between our favourite Tennis player (Rafael Nadal) and his big rival, it began to rain. Slow and lightly at first, then faster, heavier droplets began to fall. The match had only just begun when it was suspended due to the rain.

  At first, we were resolved to wait. We'd queued for hours for the match, looked forward to it for months, and had paid good money for our tickets! British weather can be fickle, so we thought the rain clouds would soon blow away. We were wrong. We had to leave the stadium and the rest of the match was postponed for another day.

  Disappointed, we decided we ought to do something to cheer ourselves up. So we went to our friend’s house (who had got the day off due to the rain) and watched our favourite movie, curled up under the blankets in the warm house, and drank hot chocolate, vowing to get Wimbledon tickets the following year.
