  【Introduction】

  第一句話說明圖的大意：Shown In the chart are three sets of bars that illustrate how many times four kinds of materials were lent by a particular library in the UK in 1995, 2000 and 2005.第一句話中注意下劃線部分是引起了一個倒裝句(主語和系動詞位置顛倒的倒裝)，這種倒裝結構可以當成模板套用。同時注意：柱、餅圖慣用bar，線圖慣用graph。The general pattern is evident. Audio-visual materials, children’s books, and adult nonfictional books showed steadiness compared with adult fictional books.第二句話說明圖的最宏觀最直觀的特點。

  【Body】

  老章在觀察后，發現前三根bar應該放在一起寫，因為在這三年里，這三根bar的數字基本沒變過，特點相似，放在一起寫方便讀者理解，也給自己省事：The numbers of the first three materials were roughly 20 million, 100 million and 200 million respectively in 1995, and the other two years saw only negligible variations in each number. 第一句話的寫作邏輯是：先說明第一年，再以第一年為參照物去說明后面兩年沒怎么變。至此，前三根bar的宏觀特點寫完了。Not only the overall stability, it is also notable that the library loaned audio-visual materials significantly fewer times than it loaned other materials.這一句話是補充說明前三根bar當中，還有什么特殊的地方。這個特殊的地方體現出【比較】，也就是fewer。于是，這就形成了這個段落的寫作結構“總—分”，即“先寫三個在一起時的宏觀，再寫三個當中的特殊”。

  另起一段單獨寫最后一根bar，肯定多用些筆墨：Adult fiction is different from the first three types of materials, as its number varies vastly from year to year. 第一句話說明了【比較】，也通過與前三根bar的比較關系來承上啟下連接兩個段落。In fact, the decrease is apparent: 300 million times in 1995, 200 million times in 2000, and only 100 million times in 2005, 這前半句就是羅列數字。這種寫法很省勁，全文總會用到一次兩次，沒問題。同時，注意冒號的用法，即解釋說明冒號前的內容的具體情況。and the decline represents the loss of the exclusive high popularity in 2000 and even of its leading status in 2005.這后半句有難度，嘗試學會，不然的話就用最傻的“誰和誰一樣”去寫，不出彩，但就也行。

  【Conclusion】

  In general, the overview of the graph is the evident changing number of one type of material and the stability of the other three types.

  結尾段建議有。一句話宏觀的方式、粗線條的方式總結主體部分。雖然這個句子的表意不容易被想出來，但是完全不難理解，并且可以當成寫作模板學會和擇機套用。

  詞匯注意：高亮標出的表達程度的形容詞和副詞、已經帶有程度意義的動詞和一些特殊動詞、表示“穩定”或“改變”的名詞。

  句法注意：通過使用不同的主語來豐富句子的模式，以及用來聯系上下文的句型。
